Fratelli Tutti

Fratelli Tutti

Fratelli Tutti, the third encyclical by Pope Francis, was released on October 4, 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic of the Novel Corona Virus. The Pope explains that the pandemic unexpectedly erupted while he was writing the encyclical. Pope Francis describes Fratelli Tutti as a "Social Encyclical" and the title is a reference to St. Francis of Assisi, from whom the Pope draws his name. The Pope addresses the need for fraternity in social life and politics, particularly as expressed through institutions that stand to have a direct impact on the lives of individuals. The Pope uses the pandemic to demonstrate the need for fraternity at a global level.

Recently, Bishop Castillo tackled Chapter Two of the encyclical, and you can review his presentation at this Link. In March, Bishop Castillo will lead us on a deeper understanding of Fratelli Tutti. You can listen to the encyclical via this YouTube video. You can also read the encyclical at this Link
