Fratelli Tutti

Fratelli Tutti

Fratelli Tutti, the third encyclical by Pope Francis, was released on October 4, 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic of the Novel Corona Virus. The Pope explains that the pandemic unexpectedly erupted while he was writing the encyclical. Pope Francis describes Fratelli Tutti as a "Social Encyclical" and the title is a reference to St. Francis of Assisi, from whom the Pope draws his name. The Pope addresses the need for fraternity in social life and politics, particularly as expressed through institutions that stand to have a direct impact on the lives of individuals. The Pope uses the pandemic to demonstrate the need for fraternity at a global level.

Recently, Bishop Castillo presented Chapters One and Two of the encyclical, and you can review his presentations at these links: Chapter One and Chapter Two. Tomorrow, Bishop Castillo will continue his presentations with Chapter three, which informs our view of immigration.
