CAMINO IGNACIANO 2022-UPDATE FEBRUARY 1, 2022

Our group met via ZOOM for the third time and we had the largest participation including from Italy two of our caminante priests Father Julio Minsal-Ruiz, SJ and Father Jose G. Cedeño, SJ. The purpose of this pilgrimage is to reenact Iñigo Lopez (aka later as San Ignacio de Loyola) walk five hundred years ago during his process of conversion and participate in the culmination of the festivities for the Año Santo Ignaciano (https://ignatius500.global). We will begin in Loyola (Ignacio’s birthplace) on July 22, 2022, and arrive in Manresa on the weekend of July 30-31, 2022 for the big celebration on Sunday, July 31st. Father Paul Rourke, SJ from Fairfield University (a Jesuit school located in Connecticut) is our third caminante priest. We are blessed to have as our tour guide the first Camino Ignaciano recognized caminante from 2012. Our group now numbers 35-40 including teenagers, grand children and some Catholic Young Professionals. We have room for a maximum of 50 in our big bus. If walking is a challenge we have a diverted route that we can share the idea for those interested but unable to walk. Questions? Contact Ignacio Abella (Belen 1964) at ijabellacpa@aol.com or 305-775-4335, or Carlos Muñiz (Belen 1985) at casamuniz@outlook.com or 305-282-2352. Our caminantes now have begun making their hotel reservations in our designated eight hotels. Our next scheduled ZOOM meeting will be on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Noon (EST Miami time). AMDG
