Camino Ignaciano 2022 Update 11/23/2021

Camino Ignaciano 2022 Update 11/23/2021

The Jesuit family has begun celebrating the 500 years of the conversion of San Ignacio de Loyola by announcing an Año Santo from May 2021 to July 31, 2022. Our group will reenact the camino Ignacio did 500 years ago from Loyola to Manresa. As an optional Pre-Camino activity , we plan to visit Mansilla Mayor, the birthplace of Father Amando Llorente, S.J., on July 20 & 21, 2022. Mansilla Mayor is located between Leon and Loyola where we meet to begin our walk.  We encourage to search in YouTube under the “Ignatian Year” celebrations including Father Arturo Sosa,S.J., exortation “About the Ignatian Year 2021-2022” and the powerful testimonies referred to as “Cannonball Moments”.

Our group of caminantes ignacianos met again via ZOOM on November 20, 2021. Our group now is close to 40 including our teen age children and grand kids and we have determined that 50 is our manageable group. We are led by Father Julio Minsal-Ruiz S.J. (from Belen now in Rome), Father Paul Rourke S.J. (at Fairfield University a Jesuit school in CT and Camino de Santiago 2018 “veteran”) and Father Jose G. Cedeño S.J. (from Puerto Rico also in Rome now). If walking is a problem and you still want to participate we might have an option of diverting your route by spending those days in Lourdes the catholic shrine close to Loyola and joining us in Montserrat as we make our entrance in Manresa. Our group will meet via ZOOM again, probably for the last time since we expect to reach our full capacity, on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12 Noon (EST).
