ACU in Miami Catholic Gators in Gainesville
Calling all University of Florida Gator Alumni: The Catholic Gators (CG) at St. Augustine Church & Student Center in Gainesville has teamed up with the Agrupacion Catolica Universitaria (ACU) to teach and instill the principles of Ignatian Spirituality for the members of the Catholic Gators, which also includes students from Santa Fe Community College. The program consists of monthly visits during the academic year with formation presentations by members of the ACU.
The Mission Statement of CG is: Bring Christ to the Campus Community & the Community to Christ (www.catholicgators.org). The Mission Statement of the ACU is: Forming Professional Catholic Men as Leaders of the Propagation of the Faith (www.estovir.org). Catholic Gators is led by Fr. David J. Ruchinski, Pastor of St. Augustine parish. Fr. Ruchinski is assisted by Joseph West and Fernando Change. The Ecclesiastical Director of the ACU is Fr. Christian A. Saenz, S.J. The members of the ACU that lead the Apostolate at CG are Andres Manrara, Gerry Portela, and Jay Velasco.
The Catholic Gators and the ACU invite all Gator alumni to a fundraising event at the ACU on Friday, October 21, 2022. We will have a presentation to the Gator Alumni of South Florida by members of the Catholic Gators and the ACU. They will share with us the work being carried out and the plans for the future. The ACU will be contacting Gator Alumni in Miami to participate in this event.
The theme of the evening is “Integrating our Catholic Identity into our Catholic Gators Students:
